Martine Bentsen
Martine Bentsen is born and raised in Haugesund, Norway. She moved to Oslo at the age of fifteen to start her education at Oslo Natinal academy os the arts 2012-2015. Here she studied for a bachelor degree in performing arts with a major in jazzdance.
In cooperation with the bachelor programme she has worked with choreographers such as Anne Grete Eriksen, Tine Aspaas, Jens Jeffrey Trinidad, Christine Nypan, Subjazz, Masja Abrahamsen, Erica Sobol and Jo Strømgren.
October 2016 to May 2017 she was studying contemporary dance at RCPD Mariemma in 5th year.
Martine is a member of Kompani Haugesund and from June2017 to September 2017 she was working and performing "Todelt Aften" with the pieces "Glassperle" by Janne Camilla Lyster and "WOW!" by Stian Danielsen.
From January 2016 to May 2017 she worked with Elephant in the Black Box Company directed ny Jean-Phillippe Dury in Madrid. With the company she has performed "4 seasons of Victoria" and "Romeo and Julietta" in South Korea, France and around in Spain. With the Junior company she has performed "Le scare du Printemps" by Jean-Philippe Dury and "Mayhem" by Jose Luis Reyna. At the moment she is also helping to create a new choreography for a festival in Switzerland.
In June 2016 she won together with her company NeveS a choreography prize for her piece "Vent litt...La meg forklare". With this award she is cooperating with several dancers to create a new piece for a performance in April and May 2017.
She was an apprentice at Carabdanza in Madrid. She performed in their production "Links" where she did both the neoclassical piece "PDA" by Adam Rutherford and the contemporary piece "Skinless" by Gonzalo Diaz and Carolina Marquez. She also performed Carabdanza`s contemporary version of "the Nutcracker".
